The Role of Personal Development in Achieving the SDG’s

We have all heard about the Sustainability Development Goals (SDG's). But have you heard about the Inner Development Goals?

I was inspired to discover a whole movement and an NFP addressing personal development and the skills we need to enable change and achieve the SDGs.

Gandi's quote sums it up well:

"The difference between what we do and are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems."

How can we harness human potential to do good and live more mindfully?

As a purpose coach, this topic is close to my heart, helping people uncover their unique abilities and passions to guide them on a more aligned path that lights up a sense of purpose and enables them to make a difference.

For me, connecting to my purpose has underpinned my self-actualisation through being inspired and motivated by a cause and a vision of impact far greater than myself.

Check out the Inner Development Goals framework across 5 dimensions and 23 skills and qualities

While the role of purpose is inferred in their framework, I believe it underpins human potential to make a difference. Being a quest of self-discovery and exploration to connect with a cause that resonates deep inside us, leading us to take action.

The sad reality is that many people are in jobs, companies or careers not aligned with their passions and true potential. With the 5-day week limiting time for deeper work and exploration. Perhaps where companies can do more to help employees on this personal development journey.

If you are feeling the call for change, I can help.
